Very Well Written and Superb Clarity

If I were ever to teach a course to advanced undergraduates or beginning graduate students on this subject I would seriously consider using this book. The first edition served me well as a useful reference during graduate courses on Electromagnetics which resulted in me purchasing a copy of the second edition! I appreciate the author including material on Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Optics. My particular favorite chapters are the last two on Diffraction and Coherence - topics that are not usually included in American texts intended for the same audience. I only wish I had the ability to read it in the original Italian.
